New weapon models look great!

By the way, what about the Revolver .38 ? I didn't see it on the first page.

Also, how about making Remington 24SWS look a bit more different than Remington M700? It is a swat rifle after all... With a different muzzle brake?

Maybe a bit more like this?:

Suggestion Box / Re: Cars, make cars.

Not that i agree with you completely, it would be nice to see moving cars and motorcycles around here and there.. Maybe some cars moving from the bridges instead of just lights.. And maybe some parked motorcycles on the garage.. Thats my two cents anyway..

true, although it would be fun to play a GTA based VtM game i dont think it would fit well with Bloodline's scene based setting and lack of an open world although it would be interesting if there were some traffic around the hubs to make them seem more alive. Also it would be fun to see some subway stations here and there like the way you moved through hubs in the original Darkness game.

Yeah, thats what i think as well. Bloodlines already had some traffic on at least one of the cutscenes:

By the way, look at that sight, traffic, tall buildings and some other stuff.. Simply beautiful. It makes me wonder why hub maps are not like this.

Also, car models needs to be replaced. (Cars doesn't even have interiors) Modders already made models of the same cars for the GTA games, i am thinking this mod can use those models as well. (by asking permission first of course)

Look at this car model from the original game.. Its quality is so low, it looks as if the game was released in 1995 and not 2004:

For instance, 1974 Dodge Monaco Police car, same vehicle from Bloodlines:

With a simple retexture, it could replace the one in the game no problem.

And most cars doesn't have to be exactly the same either, as long as it looks like it belongs in the game, it would be fine.. (original models for the cars are way half-arsed anyway) Places like Santa Monica could have average cars like old and new but mostly old and not really expensive, while places like Hollywood would have better cars like mostly newer and more expensive cars.. (like cars made after the year 2000, game takes place 21 century after all, it doesn't make sense that most if not all car models are from 70's.)

Cars and motorcycles should range from 1960's to 2000's..

Example, Honda Civic 2000:

Another example, 1971 Dodge Dart:

Nissan Skyline 2000:

And maybe some parked motorcycles and bikes around. (as props) Because, why not? It never made any sense to me that there isn't a single motorcycle or bike in entire LA. (parked or otherwise)

Most of these cars would probably need to be retextured to make it belong to the Bloodlines. (world of Dloodlines is a darker place after all) With some details like that HUBs could be made to look more lively..

well i have stated that it can not be a GTA style free ride true sandbox , something more like just limited use of a cars in scene, (mission as you prefer)

the reason is only one to make it more colorfull or more interesting missions which every fan knows.
So i think that having extra option to kill somebody or make a hole in a fence , for a sake of new and more spectacular game moments cars would be awesome addition.

And i'm not talking about driving only. Just use cars to make some progress for a mission.

Don't try to say that a killing a Russian mafias members by domination or manipulation a taxi driver to make him drive in to them is not fun and vamp alike.

Or to drive thru brick wall some truck in to the Hollowbrook hotel to start a wild raid on a Sabat members is styless.
It does not mean that you can drive this truck around whole area. Just for this specific purpose.  :)

ivan4041  , good idea actually, with this "torpor state" maybe a nice accent would be to have a main menu like a "torpor dream"
where you chose a tasks which you gonna be awaken for.

I would like that i think that you can dream and dream in a main menu  , and choose some scenarios or part of a dream ?
in which you wanna make true again.
I think that can open nice visual possibilities.
I'm thinking of something like a interactive menu, like in a latest "Prince of Persia" btw it has nice graphics.

It would be cool if the damage would comply visually like in the books. That is in addition to limping, every time you are below 30% health, the game would consider you a Nosferatu and people would act accordingly. This way you can't be a disemboweled Torrie and still pick up chicks in the club.

yeah not only visually but to block some of your actions as well. Actually a original wound system could do a much nicer game play.
maybe instead  of a health bar we could have that ?

It would be great if the Quei-Jin died in a different way, considering they are not vampires. And Lastly the Final Death animation can be made a little more up to date.

Sure .

Suggestion Box / Clothes in the Game
« Last post by Konstantinos the Tremere on September 20, 2014, 06:55:36 am »
I noticed in one of the updates the idea about getting various clothe stores around the hubs and to be honest i quite agree to see the game give more options when it comes to clothing. Also it would be interesting if the clothes or maybe equiped trinkets like watches and rings would add to a characters appearance stats depending on how fancy they were so for instance a character with a fancy but slightly uncomfortable wear would get a bonus on appearance while getting a slight penaldy in dexterity and other physical stats while if he was wearing more athletic oriented clothes get a bonus on physical stats while suffering a slight penaldy in appearance. That way the characters could dress for the occasion depending on what their mission calls for.

Also add some protective gear like body armors that would again lower appearance and maybe dexterity if they were too heavy but boost defences or bulletproof vests with a bit lower defences but depending on their quality and price, better one be able to be concealed under clothes, giving a smaller appearance penaldy.

So, in that case the character could dress for the occasion beforehand in his haven and for example dress fancy with maybe a concealed vest for the Giovanni party, wear a tracksuit that would allow him to use his sneaking skills far more effectively while storming the Kuei Jin stronghold or bust in in full body armor, giving hell in the Hallowbrook hotel or when storming the Ivory tower.

Also make the ability to change clothes only available while in the Haven and make certain missions require certain clothes so for instance in order to slip in the Giovanni party, having to wear a formal wear.

Ivan is right, there is no reason why they should quit. There have been many remarcable games based on the initiative and the creativity of fans. Having said that, you shouldn't discourage someones honest work and efforts to better what they love if you cannot encourage them. If you disagree with their work, the wisest move would be to ignore it and dont follow it.

Introduction / Yes, Hello, Hi.
« Last post by Joe England on September 16, 2014, 07:12:50 am »
I've never actually played the original game, but I've always wanted to.  My strict "Mac Diet" has kept it pretty much out of reach.  But even so, I've hoped for some revision...  Ideally something which could even improve on the original, with greater customization and roleplaying options... and now it looks like that's exactly what I've finally found here!

So I'm tentatively thrilled by all this, and I dearly hope that the Project can reach completion.  Tentatively, that is, because I've learned from past disappointments to be wary of things that seem too good to be true.  So many of the most promising artistic experiments I've followed eventually petered out and vanished... I really, really hope that doesn't happen here.  I want so much for this particular little dream to come true.  So I'll add my voice to the chorus urging everyone involved to keep up the good work.

I'm not sure if I can actually contribute anything beyond that, but I'll provide links to my various websites... if you look into my work you'll see that sympathetic monsters are very much in my wheelhouse (thus, my affinity for Bloodlines).  If anyone thinks that a cartoonist and illustrator might be of service, I'm always open to discussing terms.

As much as this would seem like it nears to an end, it completely understandable, and I personally don't see any rush with them. What you've contributed to the project so far is more than anyone could ask, so thank you once again. I'm thinking of holding of the rigging and animation part for now until the ones that need fixing are taken care of, else it'll be tedious to redo the whole process.

From the looks of it, I'd say the baseball bat, Glock, M37, Anaconda and a few more look quite polished so those would be the ones I'll focus on. Since these take time anyway, there's no real hurry.

Thank you kindly and I wish the same to you.
